Data freshness and backfills

How to see exactly what has synced and how far back.

Every dataset AMZ Vault syncs carries its own freshness record: when it last synced, how many rows it holds, and how far its history reaches.

Where to look

  • Settings, on the connection card - per-dataset freshness with backfill progress bars.
  • Ask your AI assistant - "check my data freshness" returns the same records with caveats attached.

Reading it

  • Last sync OK with a recent timestamp - healthy.
  • Backfill percent below 100 - history is still filling; recent data is complete, old data is on its way.
  • NO_DATA with an explanation - usually a state, not a problem: Amazon sometimes cancels empty reports, and rate-limited pulls resume on the next cycle. The explanation line says which.

Sync cadences vary by dataset - orders every few hours, most reports daily, settlements on Amazon's own posting schedule. A dataset a few hours old is normal; a dataset days old is worth a look at Missing or stale data.
