Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT can connect to AMZ Vault the same way Claude does: you add the connector once, sign in through your browser, and then ask questions about your business or stage changes right from a chat. Reads answer instantly; anything that would change your Amazon account goes through the same stage-and-confirm flow as everywhere else, and ChatGPT shows you a confirmation before any change is applied.

What you need

• A ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan
• ChatGPT on the web or the desktop app
• Your AMZ Vault login

Add the server

You will enter the same two things either way:

• Name: AMZ Vault
• URL: https://www.amz-vault.com/mcp

On the web:

1. Turn on Developer mode (Settings, then look for Advanced or Developer settings) - this is ChatGPT's switch for full connectors.
2. Open Plugins, choose Add plugin, enter the name and URL, and click Create / Connect.

In the desktop app:

1. Open Plugins, then the Settings gear, then MCPs.
2. Click + Add server, enter the name, choose Streamable HTTP as the transport, paste the URL, and Save.
3. Click Authorize.

Either way, ChatGPT discovers the sign-in flow automatically and opens an AMZ Vault login page in your browser. Sign in with your normal account - no token to create or paste. The connection acts as your AMZ Vault user with your permissions, and every action it takes is audited under your name, exactly like a Claude connection.

ChatGPT moves these menus around between releases - if you don't see Plugins, look for MCPs, connectors, or apps in Settings; the name + URL + OAuth sign-in is always the whole setup.

Use it

Start a chat, enable the AMZ Vault connector for that conversation, and ask away:

• "Pull my P&L for the first ten days of September."
• "Which campaigns are running past their break-even ACoS?"
• "Rename that campaign to [new name]."

Reads run without interruption. Writes always pause twice: AMZ Vault stages the change and shows you exactly what will happen, and ChatGPT asks for its own confirmation before sending the approval. Nothing touches your Amazon account until you have said yes.

What works, and one current limit

Everything in the tool catalog works from ChatGPT: P&L and profitability, PPC analysis, inventory and forecasting, listings, staged changes, and reports.

The AI Workforce runs from ChatGPT too, including on a schedule: ChatGPT's scheduled tasks can run the daily check-ins the same way Claude's do. Set your plan tier in Workforce HQ (the three rungs - base, 5x, 20x - map to ChatGPT Plus and its higher plans the same as Claude's), then paste the suggested schedule prompt into ChatGPT. One difference from Claude: scheduled tasks in ChatGPT have no per-task "always allow" option - tool permissions live on the connector itself. In the AMZ Vault connector's settings, ChatGPT offers "Always ask", "Allow read actions", and "Allow low-risk actions": pick Allow low-risk actions so scheduled runs can stage proposals hands-free (staging never touches Amazon - every change still waits for your approval).

Create scheduled tasks on the ChatGPT website, not the desktop app. The two surfaces keep separate task lists and separate connector setups: tasks made on chatgpt.com run in OpenAI's cloud and fire even with your computer off, while tasks made in the desktop app only run while the app is open. Chat with your data from either surface - but the schedule belongs on the web.

Revoking access

Settings, then AI Connector in AMZ Vault lists every connection, ChatGPT included. Revoke there any time and the connection stops immediately.
