Restock planning

Reorder timing from forecast, lead times, and what is already inbound.

Stockouts cost twice: the sales you miss, and the ranking and ad momentum you rebuild afterward. The purchasing suite exists to make reorders boring.

The rhythm

  1. Keep suppliers current - production and transit lead times per ship mode are the whole basis of reorder timing.
  2. Check the reorder advisor weekly. It combines forecast demand, current stock across FBA and upstream, open purchase orders already inbound, and lead times into a reorder-by date per product. A product past its reorder-by date is a decision already late.
  3. Raise the PO in the app - milestones, freight, and payments tracked from draft to received, and the open PO immediately counts as inbound supply so the advisor stops re-flagging it.

When stock runs low anyway

Do not cut advertising reflexively - see the stock doctrine your workforce follows: campaigns with in-stock sibling products keep running on observed performance, and a low-stock product's own ad can be paused pre-stockout to shift spend onto siblings. Momentum preserved beats spend saved.
