Why numbers differ from Seller Central

Order dates, cash basis, attribution windows - the three honest reasons.

When AMZ Vault and a Seller Central screen disagree, one of three definitions is usually the reason. None of them is missing data.

1. Order date vs cash date

Sales in AMZ Vault count on the day the order was placed (matching Seller Central's sales dashboards). Fees and refunds count when Amazon actually posted the money - the settlement is the cash truth. A refund processed today for an order placed last month belongs to today's cash, not last month's sales.

2. Estimated vs settled fees

Amazon settles roughly every two weeks. For days a settlement has not covered yet, AMZ Vault estimates fees from your account's own trailing settled rates and labels the period as partially estimated (you will see a settled percentage). When the settlement lands, actuals replace estimates automatically - small revisions in recent days are the system truing up, not drifting.

3. Attribution windows

Sponsored Products sales use a 7-day attribution window; Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display use 14 days. Yesterday's ad sales will keep growing for days as attributions land. Comparing a fresh window against Seller Central's different window (or a different attribution setting) produces predictable gaps.

The marketplace day

Days are bucketed in each marketplace's local time (US days are Pacific), the way Seller Central buckets them - so daily numbers line up with what Amazon shows, not with UTC.

If a gap does not fit any of these, see P&L questions.
