Automation - rules with an approval inbox

Automation watches your account on a schedule and acts inside your guardrails. Build rules from goals (protect budget, cut waste, harvest winners) or from scratch: conditions (metrics over lookback windows, including break-even-relative thresholds), actions (bid or budget changes, negatives, harvesting, state changes), and guardrails (bid floors and ceilings, max changes per run, cooldowns).

The three approval modes

• Manual Review - fired changes wait in the approval inbox for you.
• AI Workforce Review - your Workforce's Automation Review Analyst reviews each queued change at its next check-in and approves or rejects it with a written reason; anything it will not decide stays queued for you.
• Auto-Apply - changes apply immediately. Deliberately an in-app-only setting.

Rules and the AI Workforce together

Rules and workforce analysts share the account by territory: the campaigns and aspects a rule manages (its assigned campaigns, for the action types it takes) belong to the rule, and the analysts work everything else. A staged workforce change that would land on rule-managed campaigns carries a visible rule-overlap warning at approval, and in AI Workforce Review mode the rule's own output is reviewed by the workforce before you see it - the two systems coordinate instead of double-acting.

Good practice

• Assign rules to specific campaigns rather than everything - scoped rules are debuggable rules.
• Use the dry run before activating: it shows what would fire today without changing anything.
• The Activity Log records every fire, every approval and rejection with its reason, and supports undo where Amazon allows it.
